She turned around quickly to check that she wasn't just imagining this completely out of place building. Luckily for her, Nora seemed to be looking at the building as well, just as stumped as Yang was."Uhhhh. Guys?" Yang tried to get the rest of the group's attention, which so far had been more focused on their own topics.The group paused, looking over at Yang, confused at her tone of voice before they to, noticed the strange building.Neither Team RWBY nor Team JNPR were the types to walk around Vale, simply staring at buildings for amusement. However, even they would have noticed such an out of place building such as this one."Hey guys... Have you ever seen a building like this in Vale before?" Ruby asked with a confused look. She looked around only to see various shaking heads and stupefied looks."Perhaps it's a new addition? Maybe for the Vytal festival?" Pyrrha suggested, even while looking just as surprised as the rest of the group.Weiss contradicted her, her eyes narrowed in confusion and suspicion. "No, that can't be right. We don't come down often, but a building as big as this one couldn't have been made in under three months at the very least, not including the… unique choices in design." She said, still staring at the building intensely.While not huge, the multi-colored building wasn't quite small either. Pyrrha nodded with a bit of a downtrodden expression. Weiss was right, there was no way a building that big would have had its construction done before the last time team JNPR had walked around Vale. Especially the color scheme. The amount of careful painting needed to make that much color work well together had to have taken at least a few weeks alone.Suddenly, Nora ran over to the building in her usual excitable nature, quickly looking it all over. Ren sighed, before also walking over to make sure Nora didn't do something… rash. The rest of the group looked at eachother, before shrugging and following along with their calmest and most energetic member.When they got close, they could see that the building had two small signs hanging on its door:"Life is a matter of choices, and every choice you make makes you.""Open to the public. Please, come in!"Nora was practically inspecting every crevice of the building's front wall, before turning over to the rest of the group with stars in her eyes. "Can we go in? Can we, can we, can we!?" She asked excitedly.Weiss looked extremely hesitant, but the rest of the group didn't really see a problem with Nora's suggestion. It was just a building, possible a shop based on the sign, what was the harm?"Well, I guess we didn't really have anything better to do today. " Yang said, eyeing the building with interest.Nora perked up with cheer, before quickly running and practically throwing the door open. With her leading, the rest of the group slowly followed. Strangely, the inside of the building was extremely dark. So dark that not even Blake with her enhanced Faunus night vision could see anything.That immediately put the group on edge."Yeesh, who turned out the lights?" Yang asked, a slightly cautious smirk on her face. She was trying to lighten the mood, but sadly the tension was just too thick.Right after the last person walked in, (that being Weiss, who only became more hesitant with each step), the door behind them immediately slammed closed, which made the group jump and turn back in surprise.Weiss immediately ran back to the door, trying to open it to no avail. No matter how hard she tried, the door would not budge. She even tried to bang on the door, but no sound seemed to echo out from her bangs. The apprehension of the rest of the group started to rise drastically. They quickly took out all of their weapons, prepared for anything.Suddenly, the darkened room they were standing in was flooded with light, causing the group to temporarily go blind while their eyes readjusted.After they were able to correctly see again, the whole group's jaws dropped.They were currently standing at the entrance of a huge mix of museum, library, mansion. There were gigantic shelves of books, in a circular formation that seemed to also act as pillars for a white marble roof almost 50 feet above the group. Off at small corners were small areas where signs hung over what looked like small museum districts, all with pedestals holding up various items. There was also a stairway leading to presumably a second floor, along with various strategically placed couches and a bunch of tables with what looked like refreshments. there were even some doors which seemed to lead out into alternate rooms at the sides.What most of the group was focused on however, was a large golden ornate door at the other side of the building, set with jewels with a large sign inlaid in the door, just slightly too far for the group to read."T-t-this is impossible! There is no conceivable way that the small building we entered was large enough to hold all of this!" Weiss sputtered in shock.Yang looked back, trying to put on a smirk despite her utter awe and apprehension. "Sorry Weiss, I think the building wanted to prove you wrong..."Ruby just looked around the building, frozen with amazement. "Wow… It's amazing!" She said suddenly, before speeding towards the closest table with food on it, rose petals left in her wake."Ruby, wait!" Yang shouted out, her shock broken with a need to protect her sister from whatever this was.The sudden shout and Ruby running broke the rest of the group out of their reverie. Instead of staying as a cohesive group, they all immediately split up. Nora went to drag Ren away to one of the cool looking pedestals filled with neat stuff. Jaune and Pyrrha decided to keep together while walking over to one of the strange book pillars. Weiss quickly ran to follow her group's dunce of a leader and her sister. Blake however, decided to not waste such an opportunity and quickly walked over to another one of the book pillars. No reason not to read when there are books right in front of you, after all.Yang finally caught up to Ruby, who was sitting on a couch munching some cookies that were just sitting out on a table right next to said couch. She currently seemed to be in bliss, which Yang was more than happy to interrupt."Ruby, what are you doing!?" She asked disbelievingly. "We have no idea where we are! Why are you eating random cookies!? Why are there even cookies here!?" She asked in a sister's overprotective way.Ruby just shrugged. "I dunno, they were out and seemed like they were fine." She said through her stuffed mouth.
"Don't speak with your mouth full." Yang said automatically. She then pinched the bridge of her nose in exasperation.Despite how great a leader her sister was, she was still 15 and did some dumb things. Something that Yang was sure Weiss could attest to, probably while calling her a dolt or something.Speaking of Weiss, she arrived only a moment after the thought, and the look on her face while staring at Ruby was utterly appalled. "Ruby you dolt-" Yang huffed in slight amusement, "-You have no idea where you are, what if we were kidnapped and those cookies are poisoned?" Weiss said just as disbelieving as Yang, although far more appalled."Besides, even if they are normal cookies, we're in a strangers property eating their food! What is wrong with you!?" She finished, gesturing to the rest of the building.Ruby froze. She very slowly put down a cookie that was in her hand with an embarrassed smile. "Heh heh… oops?" She said quietly."It's not poisoned right? oh gods please tell I didn't just poison myself..." Ruby muttered quietly to herself. Weiss simply rolled her eyes at her dolt of a team leader.Suddenly, the small group heard a call from Blake. "Uuh. Yang, Weiss, Ruby? You might wanna come see this…?" She said hesitantly. The rest of team RWBY turned over with worried looks. Something in Blake's voice was setting off alarm bells.They walked over, only to see Blake staring at a book in her hands with a confused and almost scared expression."Hey Blake, whaaaaaaat's wrong?" Yang said, a cautious smile evident in her voice.Instead of directly answering, Blake just showed the cover to the rest of the group. They all took a closer look, before freezing.----------------Galactic RWBY UniverseVolume 1-3----------------"W-what is this…?" Weiss said fearfully. The cover had a picture depicting the whole of team RWBY, but wearing some kind of weird spacesuits fighting against very strange looking Grimm."What the hell…?" Yang muttered. She was less scared but definitely confused."Um, what?" Ruby asked, her eyes going cross-eyed in confusion.Just then, Jaune and his team ran up to team RWBY, holding two more books."Guys, are you seeing this?" Jaune asked with a fearful expression. He quickly showed the group the two other books he was holding.---------------SPLR UniverseVolume 4-5---------------Blood Reaper UniverseBook 1----------------SPLR's cover depicted a picture of Ruby and Yang standing next to, strangely enough, Ruby's friend Penny and an unknown girl that none of the group had seen before, all of them wearing strange military-like uniforms.The second book's cover looked far darker, depicting a silhouette of Weiss facing off against a hooded girl (most likely Ruby), holding A strange looking Crescent Rose behind her head, her face completely hidden in shadow except for her eyes, which glinted silver.The whole group was officially in 'creeped-out' territory.Yang's eyes went red, and her expression quickly turned furious. "Ok, I dunno what kind of stalker thinks this is funny, but I swear I'll make them regret it!" She said loudly, directing her voice to the rest of the building.Ruby was starting to shiver slightly. "What's going on?" She asked in a small voice. "Are we really being stalked...?""Why would someone write books about us…?" Blake muttered to herself. She was definitely weirded out, but also really confused. "Wait Yang, this doesn't feel right." She said, putting a hand on Yang's shoulder to calm her down.Yang quickly turned to Blake, her anger constrained but not gone."Hell yeah it doesn't feel right! Some creep is writing books about us! They're probably doing other creepy shit about us as well!" She said angrily. However, Blake just shook her head with a strange look on her face.
"Yang. Look around you. Look at how many books there are. How could anyone in the world write this many books? Let alone about a team that's only been around for less then a year?" Blake asked quietly. "Yang, this amount of books would take a lifetime to write."Yang was about to retort angrily before pausing. Her eyes slowly turned back to their usual lilac color when her face shifted in realization."Hey yeah… If all of these books are about us, how would that be possible in such a short of time?" Yang asked slowly.Ren spoke up, "Truthfully, unless you have almost thousands of people writing books about you at the same time, this many stories about your team alone shouldn't be possible, period." He said, staring out at what looked to be hundreds of thousands of books all stacked up in those 'book pillars'.Ruby shook away her fear, before pitching in with an idea of her own. "What if not all the books here are about us? What if we only grabbed the ones with our faces on the covers because they caught our eyes?" She suggested quickly.Yang nodded her agreement with Ruby, although the doubt was still on her face. "Yeah, what if we only picked up the books about us?" She asked Blake.Blake just shook her head again. "No, we can't actually see what the books are before we grab them." She said, gesturing to the book pillar. It clearly showed that none of the book's names were on the spines, and that you absolutely could not see what the covers of each book were."What are the chances we grabbed three books, and they all seemed to be about us out of all of these books?" She asked the group with a low voice."In fact, why don't you grab a book?" Blake asked Yang, gesturing to the book pillar they were next to. Yang looked at Blake before scoffing, reaching to the pillar and grabbing a random book.She looked at the cover before holding it up for the others to see.------------------------Broken Thoughts UniverseBook 2 ----------------------The cover showed a picture of Blake on her knees, covering her ears in what seemed to be pain in team RWBY's dorm room. The rest of the cover was practically covered with what seemed to be random words, pictures, and dark patches.The rest of the group stared at the cover, while Blake seemed to grimace a bit at what was being shown. That certainly didn't fill her with confidence about these books."Frankly uncomfortable cover aside, if there are books about other people, it would be a statistical anomaly to randomly pick up a book about one of us for the fourth time in a row." Blake pointed out.Yang dropped the book, which caused Blake to wince at such book mistreatment, and held her hands up. "Ugh fine. Well, what do you think is going on then?" Yang asked, her anger turning to plain frustration.Blake just shrugged. Just because she suspected something wasn't right didn't mean she actually knew what was wrong.Ruby quickly grabbed another random book from the nearest book pillar, wearing a determined gaze. "Well, how about we open one of these and see?" She asked the rest of the group. She then paused and stared at the group, a thought entering her head."Have any of you actually tried to read one of these?" She asked. The rest of the group exchanged looks, before all of them turned back to Ruby and sheepishly shook their heads.To be fair, Blake was tempted regardless of how weird the idea was.Ruby shrugged, before looking at the book she randomly grabbed from the shelf.--------------------RWBY P.S.Volume 1--------------------The book's cover was weird. Ruby seemed to be holding gauntlets, Yang was wearing a dress and holding a huge sword, Weiss seemed to be dressed super casually, and Blake's ears were on full display, while Blake herself was pointing to them with a cocky pose.Ruby looked at the cover with a very uncanny feeling, but opened the book anyway. The second the first page was flipped, the floor lit up, a bright line leading to the gigantic golden doors at the end of the building.The group looked at each other, before collectively agreeing to follow the line, hoping for answers.They followed the line up to the doors. When they reached said giant doors, they suddenly slowly creaked open of their own accord, leading to a big room with dozens of seats.The group cautiously walked in, looking back at the door waiting for it to suddenly shut and lock themselves in (again). To the relief of everyone, that didn't seem to happen, (this time.)They were able to finally get a good look when inside the room, and when they did, they realized that the room seemed to be a giant theatre. The group looked around in awe, before they all suddenly heard a loud robotic voice speak out from seemingly nowhere."Guests detected. Scanning guests…"Suddenly, a blue light seemed to cover the whole group, 'scanning' them up and down, before blinking away."Guests scanned. RWBY Universe 877362. New guests. Initiating New Guests Protocol."Suddenly, the large Theater T.V. activated, showing a few words and a 1 minute timer:Please Be Seated.All Will Be Explained.The Theatre Welcomes you."Ok… I don't trust that at all…" Yang muttered to the group."Maybe. But what choice do we have?" Blake asked. Yang just shook her head and groaned. "Not much." Yang sighed. "Alright, fine."The group walked closer to the screen taking seats next to each other. In a straight row, from left to right, the order was: Ruby, Yang, Blake, Weiss, two empty seats, Jaune, Pyrrha, Ren, and Nora.Pyrrha, while still slightly frightened, couldn't help the small thrill of excitement she felt when she got to sit next to her crush. Nora was practically vibrating in her seat; from nerves or excitement no one could tell. The rest of the group was just wary.After the timer on the screen hit zero, the screen suddenly made a popping noise before a scene of a hooded man was shown, strolling through the very same building the group was in.The hooded man was flipping through a book, its cover unidentifiable. After a moment, the hooded figure looked straight at the screen, making barely any extra motions."Ah. Hello."The hooded man spoke to the screen, his voice shockingly deep, but seemingly friendly."If you're seeing this video, you must have stumbled upon The Conectare. What is The Conectare, you may ask? It's simple. The Conectare is what one may call a storage room of the multiverse. Do you know what the multiverse is? If you don't, that's fine.The multiverse is a collection of universes, all of them connected in some way or form. That form is usually its people, even if nothing else is similar between them. To define this, you are currently living in your own universe. Every choice you make has an effect on your universe, which keeps it wholly unique-""Whaaaat is he talking about?" Yang asked suddenly, looking at the T.V with utter confusion.To the surprise of the group, the video seemed to pause itself when Yang spoke out. When no one answered her, the video then automatically resumed, to the confusion of the whole group."How does that even work...?" Blake muttered quietly to herself, which again, caused the screen to pause for a quick second, before once again continuing."If you don't understand, let me put it in a simple example. Let's say that today you wanted eggs for breakfast. Well, in that choice alone, you have already spawned three potential alternate universes. One where you eat eggs, one where you decided you actually wanted something else, and one where you just don't eat. From that point, three new alternate universes are born. Then from those alternate universes, even more universes are created.""Wait. This theory?" Weiss said in disbelief. The rest of the group turned over to Weiss."What are you talking about Ice Queen?" Yang asked in confusion. To her surprise though, Blake is the one who answered her."Multiverse Theory. The theory that every action we take creates a different universe. But the multiverse is just fiction, something I've read in my books but not something that's actually real." Blake said to Yang, her eyes still trained on the now paused video."Huh." Yang muttered to herself, before turning her attention back to the screen."Let me explain why this is relevant. This place is actually a storage for endless copies of the universe The Conectare currently resides in, showcasing all the endless ways something could have been. Or perhaps, some outliers of things that wouldn't be possible in your universe, with nothing but names and looks being the same. A world 300 years in the past, a world 1000 years into the future. Perhaps a world where Magic is real, or a world where technology is far beyond what should be possible. The multiverse is endless. Only some things stay the same, names or people being a big one.If you're currently here, The Conectare must have landed in your universe, and you decided to explore inside. I do not blame you for your curiosity. It is a rather interesting building, isn't it?" The man chuckled to himself.The hooded man grabbed his book and walked over to a shelf, sliding the book back into its proper place. The hooded man then looked back at the screen, but this time his voice was far more grave."If you did do this however, Then I must apologize. Because of this, you are now trapped in here-"
"WHAT!?" most of the group yelled out in shock."What do you mean we're trapped in here!?" Weiss practically screamed."If I'm trapped in here then I'll just tear this place apart!" Yang yelled, her eyes turning red in fury.Blake yelled out to the group. "Guys! Stop panicking until we have the whole picture. The video hasn't finished yet. The man hasn't even finished speaking yet." She said, being the voice of reason.The rest of the group slowly quieted down, before looking back at the screen with hard faces."-For the foreseeable future. However, it is not a permanent entrapment." The man finished.Blake looked out at the rest of the group with a look.The rest of the group rolled their collective eyes."You see, The Conectare has its share of endless universes, but it was built to show these universes, not just store them. So, to escape this place, you must watch. Watch other universes, scenes from them at least. The process for this is exceedingly simple. Merely grab books from the storage, and place them in a special viewer, there." He said, before pointing to the side of the screen.Suddenly, a spot in the theater lit up. The spot seemed to contain a large machine, with an obvious slot for books. It had a clear glass front which seemed to show where the books would be held. Strangely enough, it seemed to already contain several books. It had a screen on the front with several buttons as well."The process is simple. The first way is to slot in a book, and then play a scene from that world immediately. If you don't want to do it that way, you also can merely slot in a couple books and set the machine to 'random', allowing it to automatically play the books in the machine in a random order. The amount of books you need to play is unknown. Perhaps only one. Or perhaps you'll need to play almost a hundred to escape The Conectare. It's a very... finicky building..." He huffed with a smirk, as if telling an inside joke."Now, I know that some universes can be shocking for newcomers. So, while watching, you may converse among yourselves, and when you do so, the scene shall pause itself, allowing you to indulge in your time. We used to have a host watching over the theatre, but, well... he was fired, and no one ever replaced him. So, if you want to know about the universe your viewing, you'll just have to figure it out." He smiled genially."In the meantime, the refreshments outside are free to eat, and completely safe. Lastly, bathrooms are at the side of the theater... among other things." He said, winking."Oh, and lastly, make sure to enjoy the show."The screen then cut away from the hooded man, simply showing a white screen with black lettering.No Universes Uploaded…The group turned to each other, muttering."Oh Renny, this sounds amazing! Maybe we can see other versions of you and me!" Nora said excitedly to Ren, who's outlook wasn't nearly as cheery."Utterly preposterous. There's no such things as alternate universes! And even if there was, there would be no way to see them in real life." Weiss said to team RWBY, clearly nonbelieving.If these truly are alternate universes… maybe that means there might be a universe where I finally confess to Jaune? Pyrrha secretly thought to herself hopefully.Then she immediately blanched. Wait, shit, that's bad! That's a horrible way for Jaune to figure me out!"Hey Yang…? If there truly are alternate universes, do you think that there might be one where Mom…?" Ruby slowly asked her sister, her voice hesitant.Yang just smiled sadly. "Yeah Rubes, I bet there is..."It's gonna absolutely tear me apart if we watch it though... Yang though to herself, her smile shrinking.Blake then stood up, and grabbed the book from Ruby that led the group to the theatre. "Well, no reason waiting around. Time to see what this is all about." She said, looking at the book with a critical eye.Blake then quietly walked over to the machine, before slotting the book in. She then seemed to see something on the screen, because she slowly pressed one of the buttons on the machine. None of the rest of the group could see what she was doing, but it seemed to work.The screen then flickered into a picture that was the exact same as the book's cover, but only for a moment, before flickering into a view of a skyline, and an airship.Now Playing…RWBY P.S.Please Enjoy.
